β Frequently Asked Questions
What is Jaunt?
Jaunt is an electric bike sharing service that allows you to rent electric bicycles on a short-term basis within Sioux Falls city limits. You can pick up a bike from one location and drop it off at another designated parking area. Rides do not need to be returned to the starting point.
How do I rent a Jaunt electric bike?
Download the Jaunt app, create an account, and add a payment method. Use the app to find and unlock a nearby bike, then follow the in-app instructions to start your ride.
How much does it cost?
Rides are charged in 30-minute increments.
No unlock fees, but each ride is charged in 30 minute increments even if you ride less than the full 30 minutes
$8.50 for up to 30 minutes
Rides continue charging in 30-minute increments until ended.
Consider a Ride Pass for savings on longer rides.
Do I need a special license or helmet?
No special license is required in Sioux Falls. Riders must follow local traffic laws. Helmets are recommended but not provided by Jaunt.
Are there safety tips for riding an electric bike?
Always wear a helmet, follow traffic rules, use bike lanes where available, and stay aware of your surroundings. Familiarize yourself with the bikeβs controls before riding. For more information, see the Safety tab in the app menu.
How do I find and return a bike?
Use the app to locate available bikes nearby. When finished, return the bike to a designated parking area shown in the app.
What should I do if I have a bike problem?
Report issues immediately through the app using the β?β icon in the lower-right corner. Return the bike to the nearest parking zone so it can be inspected.
Can I use a Jaunt bike for long trips?
Jaunt bikes are intended for short to medium trips. For longer use, contact Jaunt about private or extended rental options.
How do I end my ride and avoid extra charges?
Return the bike to a designated parking area before your time ends. Confirm the bike is locked by listening for the lock sound. Extra charges apply if the bike is not properly parked.
What if the bike runs out of battery?
Jaunt bikes will not unlock if they lack sufficient battery to begin a ride. Battery may deplete on long rides, and the app will alert you. If battery runs low, return the bike to a nearby parking zone. You may switch to another bike without a new payment if time remains on your ride pass.
Are there age restrictions?
Riders must be at least 14 years old with guardian permission. See terms and conditions for full details.
How do I contact customer support?
Use the Help β?β button in the app for assistance with ride issues, billing questions, or general support.
